Ancient Coping is run by Oderweb d.o.o., Šaleška cesta 2a, 3320 Velenje, Slovenia. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Write to hello@ancientcoping.com about anything on this page.
When you give us your email address to get a free chapter, a quiz result or our emails, we store:
We only email you after you click the link in the confirmation email (double opt-in). After that we send what you asked for and an occasional email about new books and letters, never daily. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, which works in one click.
If you don't confirm, we delete the sign-up after 30 days. After you unsubscribe we keep only your address marked as unsubscribed, so we never email you again. Ask us and we will delete that too.
When you finish a quiz we record which result it produced, with the date. We don't store your answers, and the result is not linked to you. It is only linked to your email if you ask us to send it to you. Quiz results are a way to pick a starting point, not a test or a diagnosis.
Votes in the “Would you live by it?” game are added to an anonymous running total per quote. Nothing about you is stored.
The public site sets no cookies and uses no advertising or tracking scripts. We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you or follow you across sites; it records the page, the referring site, and your rough country and device type. Fonts are served from our own domain. The only cookie is a login cookie for our own admin area.
Links to Spotify on the site and in our emails pass through a short ancientcoping.com link first. It counts the click with the book and the page or email it came from, and nothing else: no IP address, no device details, nothing linked to you or your email address.
We use these providers to run the site. Each processes data only to provide its service to us:
Where a provider handles data outside the EU, the transfer relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, whichever that provider offers.
We look up our own audiobooks in Spotify's public catalogue to show their descriptions and links. No data about you is sent to Spotify. When you follow a link to Spotify or Amazon, their own privacy policies apply.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive it in a portable format. Write to hello@ancientcoping.com or reply to any of our emails. We answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Slovenian data protection authority, the Information Commissioner (Informacijski pooblaščenec, ip-rs.si), or the authority where you live.
Ancient Coping is written for adults. Please don't sign up if you are under 16.
